Vintage Japanese Hunting License Badge

Vintage Japanese Hunting License Badge Front

Vintage Japanese Hunting License Badge Back

This is a vintage hunting license badge (post WW2) which is quite rare (approx. 1.2 inches across - 3 cm). Gun and other firearms are illegal in Japan so very few hunting licenses are given out and are those that are issued are tightly regulated (you can see in that the licenses have only 2 digits meaning that each prefecture in Japan give out less than 100 a year). The badge has a dark blue enamel background with the top two Japanese charaters reading "Hunting". The middle characters read "Fukushima" (the prefecture where the license was given) with the license number (43) at the bottom. A unique addition to any Japanese badge or hunting collection.
